Emma McFerran

Last week the International Freestyle Motocross Federation announced that Australian rider Emma McFerran will be in the lineup March 8-9, when the 2013 FIM Freestyle MX World Championship series opens in Berlin as part of the Night of the Jumps World Tour.

McFerran, 24, is no stranger to hanging with the guys: She grew up racing and riding with her brother, Matty McFerran, and joined Australia's Crusty Demons freestyle tour in 2010 after nearly a decade on the women's racing circuit. Last year she moved to Lockhart, New South Wales, to focus on freestyle and train under the tutelage of X Games Best Trick two-time gold medalist Jackson "Jacko" Strong, signed with the Carlton Dry Honda Racing team in September and landed her first backflips to dirt in December on her new factory Honda CRF250.

Emma McFerran is deceivingly tough for a a cute looking girl. She's been through a lot over the past 12 months, with her horriffc crash at the Darwin round of Aus Superbikes, then the road to recovery all while losing her major sponsor. Still, not once did she decide to chuck it all in, even though that would have been the easy way.

Russell Brothers Films headed to Jackson Strong's place in Wagga (Emma's second home) to spend some time with Em, capture some of her first flips to dirt and see what makes this girl tick.

Jetpilot Night of Nights Party

Night of Nights

Jetpilot Clothing hosted its annual Night of Nights party this past Friday, November 9th 2012. After outgrowing the original venue of JPI Headquarters the event was moved to the bigger location of Studio 8, Village Roadshow Studios.

The Evening kicked off at 6pm with our retailers, buyers and media contacts all congregating outside studio 8 to witness

Shane Tucker light up his pro stock drag car, laying down some rubber and filling the air with tyre smoke. Matt Mingay was up

next on his Harley showing the crowd why he is Australia’s best stunt rider. He didn't stop there however jumping in the

Hitachi drift Ute and weaving his way in and around studio 7 and 8 and putting on a show that really got the crowd excited.

As 7pm rolled around the 600 strong crowd entered the studio to DJ Rockwell blasting out the beats from the suspended

stage and Flatland BMX rider Simon O’Brien doing his thing in front of the Monster Energy truck, the food and drinks flowed

freely all night thanks to the Bun Mobile, Roamin Pizza, Jack Daniels, Carlton Dry and Monster Energy.

While the crowd mingled around the illuminated furniture and the Jetpilot girls enjoyed the hot tubs the BMX riders got to work

on the two hit set up created by Tim Wood, the guys went big and got the crowd excited with a combination of technical and

stylish tricks, The crowd voted that the Throwdown champion on the night however went to GC Compound local Dale O’Brien

with a massive double backflip off the first hit.

We finished the night off in Style with Gold Coast DJ’s The Surecut Kids descending from the roof on the suspended stage

while breakers skill@will went to work amongst the crowd and got them excited for the after party at East nightclub which

lasted to the early hours of the morning.

“We really wanted to show our retailers, buyers and media contacts what the brand is all about and this is the reason behind

the Night of Nights concept, we also want to say thanks to the people that keep supporting the brand and are keeping it

moving forward, without these people we wouldn't be able to hold events like this said Marketing Manager Chris Apps

Founded in 1986, JetPilot continues it's leading tradition producing the most progressive, innovative, technically advanced,

rider-inspired products for the Action Sports industry.
